【市指定：有形民俗】ぐすくべのアギイス（力石）
〔ぐすくべのあぎいす（ちからいし）〕
戦前は各集落で青年による力試しが盛んに行われていた。角力もその一つであるが、今日でいう重量上げに相当するのが「アギイス（力石）」である。各集落の青年会場（現公民館）には大小二個のアギイスが備えられていた。娯楽の少ない昔は、農作業を終えた青年らが三三五五集まり、アギイスで力試しを行っていた。大きな石は70～80ｋｇ、小さな石は50～60ｋｇはあったという。アギイスは肩まで持ち上げる方法と、両手で頭上まで持ち上げる方法があった。各集落のアギイスは力試しが行われなくなった戦後、行方知れずになったのが多いようだ。
現在は、七又・新城・西中の集落で確認されているにすぎない。アギイス（力石）はぐすくべの民俗を知る上でも重要な資料である。

In each of the settlements, there were numerous tests of strengths among the youths up until before the war. One of these was sumo wrestling, but there also was the Agiisu (rock of strength), which is similar to weight-lifting of today. At each of the youth squares (present day community centers), there were two Agiisu rocks; a small one and a large one. In those days where entertainment was scarce, the youths gathered in groups after their work on the farm to compete in a test of strength using the Agiisu rocks. It is said that the large rock weighed around 70 to 80kg, and the smaller weighed 50 to 60kg. There were two methods in this strength test, raising the Agiisu rock up to the shoulders and the other, to carry it above the head with both hands. After the war, when these competitions no longer took place, many of the Agiisu rocks were simply lost.
Presently, the only districts where the Agiisu rocks have been confirmed are Nanamata, Aragusuku, and Nishinaka. The Agiisu is an important source of history in the folk customs in Gusukube.
【市指定：有形民俗】城邊的力石
二戰以前，每個村落都曾盛行較力比賽。相撲也是其中一個項目，「力石」就是相當於現在的舉重。每個村落的青年會場（現在的公民館），都備有大小不一的兩個力石。在很少有娛樂的過去，做完農活的青年們，三三兩兩來到這裡，用力石來比賽誰的力氣大。據說，大的力石重70～80公斤，小的力石重50～60公斤。比賽方法有兩種：單手將力石舉起與肩高，或用兩手把力石舉過頭頂。戰後，許多村落不再舉行較力比賽，力石也就不知去向了。
現在得到確認的只有七又、新城和西中的村落。力石是用來瞭解城邊民俗的重要資料。
【미야코지마시 지정：유형 민속】구스쿠베의 아기이스(힘겨루기를 위한 돌)
전쟁 전에는 각 마을에서 청년들의 힘겨루기 대회가 자주 열렸다. 씨름도 그 중의 하나였다. 오늘날의 역도에 해당하는 것이 “아기이스”이다. 각 마을의 청년회장(현재, 마을회관)에는 큰 돌과 작은 돌, 두 개의 아기이스가 갖추어져 있었다.
마땅한 오락이 없었던 옛날, 농사를 마친 청년들이 삼삼오오 모여앉아 아기이스로 힘겨루기 대회를 열었다.
큰 돌은 70-80kg, 작은 돌은 50-60kg 정도의 무게였다고 한다. 아기이스를 어깨까지 올리는 방법과 양손을 들어 머리까지 올리는 방법이 있었다. 전쟁 후에는 각 마을에서 아기이스 대회가 더 이상 열리지 않게 되었고, 돌들의 행방이 묘연해진 경우가 많은 듯하다. 현재는 나나마타, 아라구스쿠, 니시나타 마을에서 확인된 것이 전부이다. 아기이스는 구스쿠베의 민속을 이해하는데 있어서 중요한 자료이다.
